The Clip Joint Grooming Policies & Procedures

At The Clip Joint, our priority is the safety, comfort, and well-being of every pet in our care. Please review the following policies before booking an appointment.

💅 Nail Care

Every precaution is taken to trim nails as short and smooth as possible without hitting the quick. If the quick is overgrown or close to the tip, minor bleeding can occur.

Nail clipping and dremmel is included in the groom based on your dog’s comfort level.
We do not do stand alone nail trims

💲 Additional Services & Fees

De-fleaing or Salon Detail: +$60 added to grooming price if needed. Please use preventative care.
Tick Removal: +$5 per tick.
Dematting: Full-body dematting is not offered. We provide up to 15 minutes on the face, ears, or tail only, for $20–$60.

📅 Appointment Frequency

Appointments must not exceed 8 weeks between visits.
Appointments booked over 8 weeks apart may incur an additional fee.
Longer-haired styles (e.g., 4–6 week maintenance) may require more frequent grooming.

🚫 Clients in the Shop

Clients are not allowed in the grooming area or salon while their pet is being groomed.
Seeing their owner mid-groom can cause excitement, stress, or sudden movement, creating an unsafe situation for both the pet and groomer. This applies to dogs and cats.
If a client arrives before being called, we may have to end the groom immediately, and the full price of the groom will still be due.

❗ 48-Hour Cancellation Policy

We require 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule.
If this notice is not provided, you will be charged 50% of the full grooming price, payable by Venmo or Zelle.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS.
Clients who do not pay required fees will not be allowed to book future appointments.

🔐 Safety Procedures

Do not walk into the salon until the groomer contacts you for pickup.
Do not get your dog excited while they are in the holding area or on the table.
Ensure your dog arrives secured with a collar, harness, or slip lead.
We do not accept retractable leashes. Slip leads are available if needed.
Please lock the door behind you when entering or exiting.

📢 Communication

Text message is our only form of communication.
We do not respond to calls, voicemails, DMs, or emails while grooming or on days off.
Vacations and schedule updates are posted months in advance inside the salon so please schedule accordingly.

🩺 Veterinary Authorization

By using our services, you authorize Untangled Tail to act in your pet’s best interest during an emergency. This may include veterinary care, transportation, boarding, or caretaking. You are responsible for all associated costs.

📸 Media Release

By booking an appointment, you give Untangled Tail permission to photograph or record your pet and use these images for social media, marketing, or our website.
